What Could we do for you Mr. O.?

Dear friends:

Few days ago I’ve received the following email:

“You're quoting me on your site......and I have not given you permission to do so.
...Two cases spotted so far: Baku Llama and Lynn Stokes. I don't want to report the blog, so I respectfully ask that you don't quote me nor my reviews on your blog in the future, and that you remove all quotes by me you might have elsewhere on the blog already

Best wishes, Xxxx”

So I immediately replied to him this way:

"Hi Xxxx,
My Apologies, I will remove your reviews.
All the best
Pirata"

Since then, and as a strange coincidence, all the files are being deleted and sadly, our beloved blog must slow down the activities again...
And you ask, why is this happening? No less because this person may have reported the blog once again.
How? This is the story: After I have started running the new blog everything was perfectly on going. Then yesterday after I have forwarded the new address to more than 100 emails, all files suddenly was deleted just like a magic. This is due certainly to one of the very same person that I've emailed the new blog's address, that has betrayed us! Maybe the same person mentioned above. Can you believe this? Attitudes like this only demonstrate how people can be so…..no words for this... shame on you!! Mr O.

By accident Of course!!

Is Mr O a bastard? a soab? a fucking faggot? A coward? No doubt he is. It's a difficult situation because even if you tried to post a blog only for invited people(and I think all the blogs shoud do this), I am sure that he(Mr. O the opportunist) would do everything to break your new effort.
All that I have to say is "DO NOT GIVE UP".

i just can't believe whats happening. what kind of grundge is this mr. O.B? leave us fckin alone and focus your damn bussiness. because you can't prevent that constitution like this blog. there's much more people bloggin' online and they'll keep on at the end. incuding ourselves. yeah! you see? shit happens.. and you do nothing about that. you never win!

Diego, Prog

I regret that because of an unhappy (always there) all can not stay without doing anything, only when we are interested to share tastes, as in this case the music .-
And greetings from all but one .-

That's too bad. It seems that one of the 100 has betrayed the blog. It's not necessarily the "Mr. O", mind you. Maybe he's just mad about seeing his reviews, which I BTW don't understand because... didn't he get the credit for them?

Please, I hope you Pirata will carry on, this blog is one of the best. I check this every day. Bless you, and thanks :)

I guess one of most of the measures should be given thoughts:
1.- an annonymous blog, with no title;
2.- files to be stored at another service than Rapidshare;
3.- new blog address to be announced to carefully chosen people.

Progetiger said...

But how does Pirata know who to give this address to? I mean, anyone can be the betrayer. I so wish this blog can carry on, it's one of the best really.

Celso F. Araujo said...

Pirata would give the address to a few people, wait a while to see what happens, the give it to some more, and so on.

Pirata, my friend, please, I hope you will carry on, this blog is one of the best!
May God keep you and your family! Regards from Russia,-errny

There's a blog around(http://viagemusical.blogspot.com) which efforts are on pop music from the 6os, 70s, best of, Brazilian soap opera sdtrck, etc...). It's a great blog. Its owner even publish covers but NEVER the links. The same are sent by interested people through their emails if they are interested for that post. I think that this could be one solution. Why not try it? Good luck.

I'm quoting progrockmaniac solution: you should just present the albums ,Pirata, without including any download link. Whoever wants to get the album, will ask you it. No more Mr.O.

By the way, since the day I have discovered blogs like this, I've begun to buy way more original music than I ever did before.

>By the way, since the day I have discovered blogs like this, I've begun to buy way more original music than I ever did before.

The same has happened to me also. My record buyings have nearly sky-rocketed since I found prog blogs. My wife is getting worried...

In 2006 (I didn't know anything about blogs) I bought maybe 2 cds. Then, in mid-2007 I saw the first prog blogs and I ended buying maybe 50 cds. Then, in 2008 I bought close to 150 cds. Now it's May 2009 and I've already bought c. 50 cds.

All the several music blogs have done more good to music sales than... I don't know what. Anything else, really. Brilliant marketing idea, I might say. Except that the Record Companies are against it. Too bad.

what a childlike behavior of this guy!!!
I also feel that blogs like these can only promote bands. In fact, I also see myself buying more albums than before with the advent of music blogs.
As to the future of this blog, I would also adhere to the opinion that no links should be posted any longer and that people just have to contact you when they wish to have particular links. Of course, this would mean extra work for you...

Anyway, all the best for your blog and thanks once more for all!

In fact, someone has even given Megaupload in Pirata, I will wait for your decision to start uploading cds again. I think the idea of just presenting the cd and sending the download link for those who ask for it is a good idea, mas how can we know who is the informant?

Anonymous said...

How about, instead of stealing the music, point people to the myspace pages or other sources, that have tracks, especially with the newer material that you are stealing. That way you won't piss off a bunch of bands.

Anonymous said...

hey you stop there!!
we r talking about 300 or max. 500 people that downloading our stuffs. how can it's gonna be effect a band's career?!
also, all of us are collectors and we support to buying original cd ourselves.all i want is get people informed about bands.
next time think twice before accusation us!

Celso F. Araujo said...

The spoiled kiddo is so brave that posted under an annonymous ID...

Anonymous said...

ok, so a band that is selling maybe 5000 CD's, you're stealing 500 of them, that's 10%, that's a huge cut and please be honest with yourself, you're not buying it, you find an excuse to not buy it. You're not helping the artists.

Of course we post anonymously, just like you are all anonymous. You sick fucks like to 'out' anyone that dares stop you from stealing from them and post all their personal information to try and cause people physical and financial harm. You say how you do this to help the artists, but as soon as something like this happens, then you declare "we'll post all your stuff and make you pay" so you see that this statement means that you already know that posting it hurts the artist, otherwise posting more of it, according to your twisted arguments, would actually help the artist even more, but you know that isn't the case. There is absolutely no method that you use that can stop us, so just stop stealing and if you are really interested in promoting a recording, use legal and moral methods.

Lord of Cafofo said...

I am not stealing music, I've bought every single CD I have. Since i have met this music blogs I've bought more than 1000 CDs so far, because didnt know about many bands, and it is not so long, it is only two years ago. Of course I've started blogging as well cos it is very nice to spend time like this. So stop saying bullshit and take care your own life and leave us alone for better. Agin shame on you.
I support the artists so, do you?

Anonymous said...

heh. you know nothing about that. maybe you could buy all those albums anytime but we don't. and like i said we collect their original CD's as we able to. also there isn't complained band for us yet. and it doesn't give a damn about you.
actually these presumptuous fucks like you just squeakin' here for the legal rights. so don't blow your little mind with our philosophy and get the fuck outta here!

Celso F. Araujo said...

Hey Mr. Annonymous, just leave us alone and go on buying your Britney Spears cds.

Anonymous said...

ah, you buy 'as you are able', which I imagine happens very rarely. Just because you bought it pirata, doesn't mean you bought the right to give it to someone else. just be legal, and you won't have a problem. It's really simple.

Andrew Sanchezky said...

Dear Mr. Annonymous Only one question: you protect the artists or the record companies?

Anonymous said...

I bet he got a huge void in his private life :D

Lucindo said...

Pirata, all that you and the others have to do is simple: forget this idiot Anonymous. He 's such a jerk. He has mental, eating, dissociative, anxiety, psychotic and development disorders. He poops and piss on his disposable diapers aaallll dddaaayyyy lloooong. His mother does not know what to do to him because he insists in not sucking his pacifier anymore. Let's pray for him.
And Pirata keep on doing your work sharing good music, all right?

Anonymous said...

It's all for the artists chuckles, I'm one of them, I found my stuff on this blog and the previous one and it fucking pisses me off. I've got all the time I need to stop you thieving looser bastards.

Prog said...

Mr. Anonymous, if you are a musician, dediquese to that and not be vigilant, because nobody called. Music makes you and us among other things, purchase, share, listen and do what we can with our tastes and we do not need anyone to tell us what we need to do and even less to insult us.
If you are the music should face to the supplier and not us ...

Anonymous said...

you are not a musician. you're just a money-grubbing person.
why you afraid that so? haven't you any listeners outside us?

It's been about a week since I last checked in and what do I find?Your dedication and hard work gone.No need to repeat everything that has been said here other than saying you had one of the few blogs that I looked forward to visiting.I don't know what the solution is as I guess we will always have lonely people out there wanting to ruin things for those who want to share with others. How sad.We will support you whatever it is you decide to do.

Anonymous said...

HIS hard work? HIs fucking hard work? I didn't realize that he wrote and recorded the songs, paid for the equipment, paid for the recording, etc.

the solution is to buy the CD instead of stealing it. Really simple.

Anonymous said...

Hi-Hola
Really this situation is a fucking situation.
Excuse me Pirata, my english is not very good and i wrote it in spanish..i am sorry so much for all your work...lost for a fuckinganonymous.
I am musician since 1976, now i am 50 years old.all my life i played music for funny, playing for ppl only for it, prog music and more.i have more than 2000 original's lps, and more than 1500 original's cds.
but now i stop to buy more original cds..FUCK TO MUSIC INDUSTRY,FUCK THEMSELF.Stop for their bigcars, bighouses,a lot of cocaina and other drugs and.....i dont know more things.

Hi,
I just want to say...keep on the good work.

It's proved that ppl who are d/l-ing music are spending more money on original cd's and dvd's then other ppl. They go to concerts and festivals more often.

So, in fact blogs are helping artists too...if you like what you hear, you buy the original and are going to see them live.

Blogs are a great tool to discover a lot of music....and without them I would never ever heard some of them.

Good luck with your blog!
